Since 2018, Chris Cochran has been providing services to clients and organizations across the nation. From assessing states’ traffic safety communications and outreach efforts to creating informational videos for U.C. Berkeley. From advising an adult learning organization on professional on-camera presence for virtual teaching to helping the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration work with state offices and their media, advertising, outreach and communication needs.

Prior to starting his consulting in 2018, Cochran had over eleven years in charge of the Marketing and Public Affairs unit for the California Office of Traffic Safety. He was the Office’s primary spokesperson and media contact, as well as administered and directed the media, communications, and multi-million dollar marketing efforts advancing traffic safety efforts across the state. His extensive knowledge of traffic safety behavioral issues helped hundreds of grantees to effectively publicize their programs, as well as work with public and private sector stakeholders, advocacy groups, state and local officials and the public in achieving marketing and public awareness campaigns, outreach, strategic planning and events.
Previously, Cochran held a variety of positions within the television, media relations, marketing and promotions sectors, including managing a television news operation, field producing for ABC World News Tonight, managing, producing and directing for local and national public television programming, and operating his own video production, marketing and promotions company. He is the recipient of three Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, as well as multiple personal awards for advertising and public relations campaigns. The productions and promotions he has managed have garnered over 200 local, regional and national awards.
